Anybody ever had any teeth out?

Not wisdom teeth that you don't notice anyway, but regular teeth that you use all the time. Once it's been out a while, do you still miss it?

Anybody ever had any teeth out?
I have lost two molars at the bottom recently, chewing and chomping on a gobstopper. I think they have been weakened by smoking as I have chomped on them all my life with no effects. I don't miss them too much but I would if I lost the other two at the top.

So changing the subject - This Morrissey single - is it "you're the one for me fatty"

That was the title of the song.

Would you email it to me - I'm curious to know.
Reply:Yes I had some removed and then had a partial put in to replace them.
Reply:yes it hurt..... left half still in
Reply:i have had two teeth out, and i barely remember them being there.
Reply:You soon get used to whatever you have left.
Reply:N you get used to it really quickly. I've had quite a few teeth out. Some back when I had milk teeth and more recently I had a bit of an accident and lost a tooth in my gum. Ahh still makes me shiver! So I had that fixed and no-one can tell now, not even me :)
Reply:Oh you'll miss them alright, especially when the opposing tooth it "bites" with starts to resemble a walrus tusk as it distends to the other gumline.
Reply:I lost a molar, just in front of my wisdom tooth, so when the wisdom teeth came out, it left a gap there. I don't chew way back there much, so it hasn't been a problem really, but I can still feel the space if I stick my tongue back there, and it els like something is missing; because there is.
Reply:I had 2 rmoved for overcrowding reasons when I was young' Inever really think about it and I don't miss them
Reply:Not so much but if you don't put in a bridge ( a false tooth) the tooth above or below will shift it's position and that is not good. It's best to put in whatever the dentist recommends as soon as you can. I've been there done that. :)
Reply:4 they were 2 pre-molars and 2 canines. Food used to get stuck in the pre-molars and the canines caused mouth ulcers, so not really although it would be better to have them than without.
Reply:yep ive had one removed at the dentist, the actual extraction wasnt painful the numbing needle hurtt so badd

i also had 4 out at one time, i was but i was put to sleep in hospital , they only did that instead of a brace to spread my teeth out

erm there is a gap for a while and its a bit strange at first but you get used to it ... also when eating and food goes there its like :S ohh lol

good luck anyways

Reply:i take mine out every night.
Reply:not if they are the side ones it might be different with the front teeth.
Reply:It really does depend on where the tooth is. If it is a back molar, most people tend to forget it within weeks or months of it being extracted. It becomes to feel like you never had a tooth there.

However if it is a front tooth, most people find that it is unsightly for themselves to have a gap in the front where everybody can see them.

Overall, I suggest you get a bridge or prosthetic tooth to replace any tooth because sometimes after a tooth extraction, many years later your teeth can start to shift and while this does not usually cause problems for most, it can create an uncomfortable bite for others.

Generally I'd suggest you get the tooth pulled and worry about any complications later if they occur.
Reply:omg i had like 6 teeth pulled they hurt when they like numb it just cause the needle hurts but other than that it doesnt hurt missing it when it is gone never really accured to me because they were baby teeth even though they do take longer to grow back in cause they were not ready to come in
Reply:yes i have, when i was 9 i hd 7 teeth taken out at the same time ;] there was nothing wrong with them they where just baby teeth and also they didn't know i didn't have a teeth under the one they pulled out so i have a missing cap in my mouth because they didn't take an x-ray and afther a few years my LR5 lower right 5

started growing while my other teeth grew at the same time weird huh?

;]
Reply:i don't miss them at all because i had too many teeth in the first place
Reply:Yep a few times when I was quite young because of abcesses. I always had gas so can't recall much about the actual extraction.

Most grew back but one was a "mature" molar next to an incisor, which I had out in my early teens. I still have a gap there but hardly notice it and had practically forgotten about it.

I think having any front teeth out can be much more of a prob even if it is only one.
Reply:I had a tooth out last year and got a temporay one to wear for around 6 months until my gum had healed enough to have a bridge. I hated having the gap and hated having to care for the temporary one every day, it was never just a case of cleaning your teeth and going to bed, there was a whole routine involved!! But it depends where it is and how you feel about having a gap, you should never really leave a gap as it effects your bite and oral health, you should opt for a replacement
