Okay so i have braces n the orthodontist said i have to wear the elastics around my teeth at night ...?

and i was just wondering cuase i have an overbite that like if anyone else had to go through this does the elastic slip up to your gums about your teeth? like is it supposed to hurt cuase ive used the elastics for at least like 2 weeks now n ive not missed a day and ive seen no change and it still hurts and so im wondering when i will see results and if the elastic is supposed to lye on my teeth or the gums above my teeth?

i have braces on right now, and elastics are a very helpful part of the procedure of braces. at the beginning when you are wearing them only at night or day or both, they put a lot of pressure on your teeth, but after a while they feel normal and the pain goes away. they help correct your teeth even more.





you must be patient with this process and it takes some time until you actually see progress. if start to feel very bad pain that and you cant handle it anymore, take advil or tylenol or some other pain reliever and will make you feel better. trust me that happened to me and i felt so happy.
Reply:i had elastics when i had braces and there were little hooks that they hooked on to. believe me they will hurt for a while. these changes just dont come overnight. give it sometime. you will see changes....it hurts because its changing your mouth.
Reply:The Elastics go around the little hooks on your top and bottom braces. It'll hurt for a while, results don't happen over night. Give it time. Take some advil or aspirin to help with the pain at night.
Reply:i had braces twice growing up and the elastics move your teeth REALLY SLOWLY. i hated them. i had to wear them day and night for a few months. it takes time but it's worth it in the end. trust me!
