OMG....i didnt know this! Please tell me otherwise!!?

I didnt know that the orthodontists will remove teeth from my mouth 2 get my braces....so does that mean i have to be walking around with teeth misssing til i get braces??!?!?! that just makes me NOT want to get the dang braces!!!





I dont mind taking out the tooth just being around others with a few missing teeth...omg!





is it JUST LIKE THAT?!?! or did i miss a step that they do for the ppl wont have 2 undergo that embarasment til they get braces!!?!??

Not all orthodontists remove teeth. That being said, if they choose to remove some, it is generally jaw teeth, just to make space to straighten out the front ones. It is just to make room. It won't show.





My daughter had one pulled that was coming in way behind where it should have been, and that didn't show either. Soon after they put on the braces, the teeth will move around to fill the vacancies.





No worries, you will have a beautiful smile before you know it!

Reply:it depends on what teeth but yea the orthodontist can pull your teeth to get braces it usually means you have impacted teeth or to many teeth
Reply:you're mouth must be too small ot fit all of the teeth in, so i just got my braces today, and they had to take out 4 teeth. with other people it may be different, but i think getting my braces is going to be teaching me to be more hygenic and maybe i'll floss often. i hear it's all worth it in the end. i know, it may look embarressing. it was for me. and even still, some of my teeth haven't grown in yet. when you get your braces off you'll look like a moviestar or supermodel. :-)
Reply:Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years and we do this all the time. PLEASE calm down. Your mouth is too small for all your teeth to have a gorgeous smile and look like a super star. Almost all models have had this done. So stop getting upset and listen. The teeth that are removed are behind your canines. The braces will pull the other teeth into position and fill in the gap. You will look like a super star. So stop getting upset. There is a reason dentists do this and that is to make you look great and have a wonderful smile for a life time. We do this everyday and so far I have never had a patient complain. In fact they have given me presents I had to return because it wasn't right. I was just doing a job I love and am very good at. The Orthodontist I work with is a gem and everyone of my patients end up looking like they could model their smile. So calm down, relax, and let us do the job we are trained to do and love doing.
