I'm currently faced with a little dilema. Orthodontist told me I need braces before my teeth shift anymore because I do have some missing teeth and the ones next to the gaps have shifted a bit. I've been missing these teeth for about three years now.
I was set on getting braces this month but now I realize I could have signed up for my companys flexible spending account! I wish I would have done that because it would have really helped me pay for the braces.
Anyway It is now April and if I wait till Janurary I'm concerned that my teeth will be too crooked from the gap to get the braces.. plus the braces could cost more by that time?!
My question to the expert is...
Am I doing anything in terms of damage to my teeth by holding off for another 8 months to get the braces or should it be ok?
And secondly.. will the rising cost of braces offset any benefit of being able to use my flexible spending account for my braces next year?
My ortho told me my braces will cost about 5000...
Is there a time limit on when braces can be effective? I need expert advice please!?
Holding off another 8 months is really not a big issue...your teeth may shift some more, but they can always be fixed with braces at any level. I am not sure where you live but 5000.00 is a bit high, we charge around 3200.00 for a full set of braces which include evrything including the retainers. my advice to you is that when you are ready to get braces...consult with a few different orthodontist, because consultation is usually free and see who you are more comfortable with and who has the best prices.
