Pain relief for extracted wisdom teeth?

Got 3 wisdom teeth pulled 7 days ago. 2 feel great very little pain. The third is killin me. I was given Hydrocodone and Ibuprofen. I felt great for 3 days when the Hydrocodone ran out. I started alternating Tylenol Arthritis (650 mg each) and the Ibuprofen. Then I ran out of Ibuprofen. My doc won't refill myscript, the Tylenol doesn't work on me and I haven't slept in 2 days (at night time is when I feel ALL the pain. Pain during the day is minimal). I don't have a dry sockett just a difficult extraction with a lot of pain. Any advice? How long will I hurt? I have been swishing with salt water and today I got 800 mg Ibuprofen from my grandfather. Am I missing something?

Yep, you are missing a good dentist. He should have prescribed a pain reliever for you that would get you thru this period. Call him NOW and tell him he must give you a script for a pain reliever. If he refuses get a new dentist.
Reply:Ice helped me a lot, and taking the Advil and Tylenol should help. Try taking one every two hours, ie, take 2 Tylenol at 6, take 2 Advil at 8, etc, etc.
Reply:What kind of doctor did you find,a hack, I would call him again that if he wont help you with the pain ,maybe he should see you again...bug him...he'll give up the meds...Sorry for your pain.
Reply:How do you know if you have dry socket or not unless you see your doctor? He should be able to pack it with a numbing agent (some type of seaweed stuff possibly) and it will feel better instantly. Don't feel like you're bothering your doctor, I'm almost positive they gave you a slip of aftercare instructions that said to call them if you have any trouble.
Reply:You' ve probably got dry socket in the one that's hurting, and I'd be calling his *ss right now. Something is not right.
Reply:Try drinking 3 to 4 gallons of vinegar right before bed. It works for me. Try it.

Reply:Your dentist is an idiot... he needs to give you more.. after my wisdom teeth surg.. I had Percocet and Ibu... all I did was sleep wake up and take more pills.. the next week I went for the check up and he gave me Vicodin and Ibu... after 2 weeks the pain wont be so bad but I tried to ration out my pain pills to the next week.. Ibuprofin seemed to work for me more than aleve or excederine... for some reason. its been almost a month and no pain... just little flashes of pain where the nerves are getting back to normal.. My pain was more at night too.. I took a melatonin and a pain pill.. the melatonin makes you sleepy.. you can buy it at your local healthfood store.. but ask your dr first ...the first week for me... my teeth felt like they were moving and my chin hurt ..UGH.. im glad its over.. but it gets better... days 3 to 10 after the surg was the worse for me... But im 36 and my age might have made the difference,,,
