Im 13 and currently have a plate to push forward my top right eye tooth. I was always a happy kid that never cared about what people thought of me, so If someone called me something I wouldnt take any notice. But now some things do get ot me, not always, but I am very ashamed of my teeth. I simply dont like them. They are white, clean and healthy, I know that the most important bit, but they are quite gappy and crooked. I just dont like smiling becuase they are in bad shape, they just grew like that. I do go to the dentist every 6 months. I am going on Tuesday and I will ask the dentist if he can do anything, but first, I am asking anyone here what they think, or If they know something tha could help. I really dont want braces and my parents wouldnt get them as the dentist hasnt said I need them.
Here is a pic. They are whiter than they look here.

Thanks alot. Rikki
What can I do to turn my ugly teeth nice and straight? I have pics too. Please answer me this time!?
Get braces. There are lots of different kinds, including the Visalign, which are clear.
Reply:If you don't want metal braces... try invisalign... it's.. invisable..
Your teeth aren't that bad. But they might get worse as you get older... and it's much much better to get a brace while you are still young..
Reply:Braces/Retainer is probably the only way. You can get clear braces, as I may hopefully be getting, that are virtually invisible and will correct your teeth just as well as metal, though they're more expensive.
Reply:You have many options. See a dentist and orthodontist.
Your smile isn't as bad as you think it is. But if its making you self conscience then seek a professionals opinion.
Reply:I would say invest in some braces.
Reply:they have different things that can move your teeth besides braces. talk to your dentist about it. you may have been too young for him to even consider it last time. they usually want all of your teeth to be in before they would do braces.
Reply:braces/invisaline and whitening strips :]
Reply:Well they are clean and white which is very good! You have developed a good habit which is part of the fight. I would suggest asking for a retainer or something for your teeth, it may help to straighten your them, your dentist will probably know more. Ask lots of questions when you're there. Good Luck!
Reply:Braces are the only way to go, but only after that eye tooth comes in. It looks like one is growing in on top of the other there. If your parents can afford it, get the Invisalign system - it's less noticable than braces, but just as effective.
Reply:i think you should talk to the dentist without your parents present and see what he thinks tell him how ashamed you feel. i have a horrible story about my teeth if you would like to talk my email is latinprincess9986@yahoo.com and i am more than willing to talk. because i know how it feels to be ashamed of my teeth!!!
Reply:Well,
your teeth are not that bad. But I am 13 too and I have braces. Theres not much you can do besides braces. And they do have clear braces, but they're much more expensive.
Reply:They really don't look bad at all. Look at the singer Jewel, she has that tooth sticking out and nobody cares. Just tell the dentist what you dislike about your teeth and what he recommends. You don't have to wait for him. Honestly, even if you do nothing they look fine. If your parents won't fix what you want now. When you are older you can do it yourself. It is never to late with teeth.
Reply:Trust me, when you end up with perfectly straight teeth, having to wear braces for a year or two won't seem so terrible. But I can see why you'd hate wearing them; not only are they ugly, but they probably are uncomfortable and I hear that food gets stuck in them easily....So, if your dentist does suggest braces, I'd ask about Invisalign. They can be removed, I think, and are clear, so they aren't noticeable.
Also, if I end up having to get braces, I'm getting white ceramic ones, which don't look as bad as silvery metal.
Reply:ok this sounds awkward but works extremely well i am a dentist and this is an alternate way to straighted and whiten teeth. go to any store that caries tubs of hair gel. you will need about 5 tubes because you have to do this twice a day. grab handful of gel and rub on teeth. then bite down and push teeth towards where you want to move them to. do this for 7 minutes each time. good luck with your hidious teeth
Reply:You can get porcilen veneers. The dentist will first decide what teeth need to be done. Then he will shave them to make them into a post. Then he would make a mold of your mouth and send it off to the people that make them. This takes two weeks and he would put temporary caps on until then. Then he would cement the real veneers on.The bad thing is it's about $600.00 a tooth and insurance doesn't cover it.
Reply:Your teeth don't look that bad..Be lucky you have them, and they're healthy..
It looks as though you have a high pre-molar, or bicuspid on the top right side that looks a little out of place...It may grow out, and straighten more as time goes by..Crowding often causes those teeth to grow crooked..However, it's early to determine how that tooth is going to grow by a frontal picture..When you go to the dentist, I would ask him about the tooth, and what he might think would be the best options..
I would think that pulling it might help your other teeth but then again it may be crowding, and you may need a tooth, or teeth pulled in the back..On the other hand, it's really to early to determine anything because you have'nt had your adult teeth very long and there is still alot of growing to do..
I personally think that braces are way over-rated whether they be the metal ones, or the invisi-line..
Your best bet is to consult a good dentist about it..And for good advice- try seeing a dentist who is'nt really booked up who can have the time to sit with you, and discuss options and what they can do..
I hope this was very helpful for you, and good luck with your dental querries..Your teeth look fine!SMILE!!
Reply:looks like your cuspids are not in place
Reply:You're too sensitive - probably because that's real important stuff to a 13 year old. When you get older, nobody judges you for anything but your opinions.
PS- what's wrong with your teeth? Nothing! Some people wish they had theirs.
Reply:Well the only thing you can do is get braces. Or you can also ask your dentist if he can do something about it. It looks as if your teeth are really healty and clean by looking at them.
Reply:You need to get braces. Your bite needs to be corrected so you don't wear your teeth down and those teeth need to be brought into the correct position. It will definitely be worth getting braces. You can't do invisalign, it wouldn't be able to move the teeth that drastically.
