My 12 year old has just lost her tooth she wants to know how long it will take for the tooth to grow back?

my daughter is beginning to become very worried with school starting soon and her tooth missing...all of her friends have already lost all of their baby teeth and she is afraid she will be the only one with a missing tooth .So my question is how long will it take for her tooth to grow all the way back

Usually the baby tooth is pushed out by the adult tooth directly underneath it in the gum.

It shouldn't take too long. If she starts school in late August/early September, she should be fine and have a brand new tooth to show off.
Reply:Oh man, what a though age. She should be ok. Is it right in front where everyone will notice?
Reply:It takes more then a couple months. But she will have the new tooth showing by then for sure. Like the previous person said the baby teeth are pushed out by the new teeth growing in.
Reply:By age 12 all her baby teeth should have already came out a long time ago, and if you are her mother you should have known this and taken her to a dentist, unless she has some really strange delayed dental disease.
Reply:Which tooth??? Nobody can actually answer your question without seeing an x-ray and your own dentist can answer you in 2 seconds after seeing an x-ray. Go there and get your answer. Hopefully, the permanent tooth is just about to break through. If it is, it's still not likely to be there before August 7th, so sorry......

12 years old is NOT too old to have missing teeth. The last wave of teeth (the baby molars) fall out from about age 10 to 12, so many of her friends might be missing the same tooth.
Reply:i think you should go to the denist
