My 11 month old looks like her front teeth are chipped. I don't remember what they looked like when they came in. It's the bottom on 2 front ones. it looks like there is a top layer and the bottom is is missing. The bottom is rigged. I don't know if it is new enamel growing? Does that happen?I hope that makes sense. she is breastfed and does not carry around a bottle or anything. She doesnt drink juice either. She hasn't fallen either. She jus drinks water and breast milk. I brush her teeth twice a day.
Are my baby's teeth chipped?
From what you have described, your baby's teeth seem normal. Lots of baby and adult teeth, especially the bottom ones, have the shape you have described. It is caused by formation focals that are located in the tooth, that might give it the chipped shape.
If you want, you can consult a dentist just to make sure.
Reply:Incisor teeth (the front ones) or formed by three different lobes. On the edges of the teeth is where the lobes stopped growing and them make three little humps. These are called mamelons. The are seen mostly in babies because after a little while of chewing on things they get worn away and the edge becomes smooth. Nothing to worry about.
